RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR VIRGIN AMERICA AIRLINES' EFFORT TO RECEIVE
REGULATORY APPROVAL FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, Virgin America Airlines has made a commitment to serve travelers from its
base of operations at San Francisco International Airport; and
WHEREAS, Virgin America would bring more innovation and competition to the airline
industry; and
WHEREAS, Virgin America will bring some 1,600 jobs to -the San Francisco Bay Area,
in addition to the 170 it has already created; and
WHEREAS, Virgin America will generate millions of dollars in revenue for the local
economy in Bay Area and will expand San Mateo County's ability to provide services to Bay
Area residents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND DETERMINED:
1. The City Council of the City of Burlingame extends and expresses its strong support
for Virgin America Airlines' effort to win regulatory approval from the Federal Aviation
Administration.

foregoing resolution was introduced at a special meeting of the City Council held on the5th day of
February, 2007, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
