RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
REVISING THE REGULATIONS GOVERNING TIME LIMITS AND CHARGES
FOR CITY PARHING LOT H
WHEREAS, Title 13 of the Burlingame Municipal Code provides the framework for
regulating the City's parking lots; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time established regulations for time
limitations and charges for various City parking lots; and
WHEREAS, City traffic engineering staff have surveyed the use of peripheral parking
lots in the Burlingame Avenue (Lots G, H, F, O and N) to determine current usage and to
recommend changes that would enhance the efficient and effective use of these parking lots; and
WHEREAS, to provide consistency in parking times and charges and to encourage the
increased use of City Parking Lots K and K-1, the Parking Lot H should be converted from free
parking to pay parking at the rate of $1.00 for the 10 hours of parking; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of pay parking in Parking Lot H would generate
approximately $20,000.00 in increased annual revenue for the parking enterprise fund; and
WHEREAS, all other time limits and parking rate charges established and affirmed in
prior Resolutions for other City parking lots shall remain unchanged,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, ORDER and DETERMINE as follows:
1. No person shall park any vehicle on City parking lot H for longer than the
designated period of 10 consecutive hours and without paying $1.00 for the 10 hour period.
2. The 10 -hour time limitation and $1.00 parking rate for City parking lot H are
hereby adopted and shall supersede any and all such limitations and hours adopted by prior
resolutions of this Council.
3. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to procure and
install in City parking Lot H, parking meters or coin boxes and appropriate signs giving notice of
the provisions of this Resolution.
4.. The 10 -hour time limit and the $1.00 parking rate for City parking Lot H set forth
in this Resolution shall be operative upon the installation of such signs and meters or coin boxes;
existing limitations and charges shall continue in effect until those signs are installed and those
meters or coin boxes are operational.
