HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 008-2010RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PBS&J TO PERFORM ADDITIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW SERVICES RELATED TO THE DOWNTOWN BURLINGAME SPECIFIC PLAN RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame: WHEREAS, the City Council previously authorized the preparation of a Specific Plan for Downtown Burlingame; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), an environmental review of the Specific Plan must occur prior to consideration of the Plan by the Planning Commission and City Council; and WHEREAS, PBS&J has submitted a proposal to conduct the required environmental review related to the Downtown Burlingame Specific Plan and the City Council authorized entering into this agreement on June 18, 2007; and WHEREAS, PBS&J is requesting a budget augment to cover additional work required to complete the environmental review for the Specific Plan project, based on new state requirements for analysis of a project's impact on climate change. PBS&J proposes to add a Climate Change Section to the Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration, as outlined in the attached Budget Augment #2 dated December 17, 2009. WHEREAS, since the amended agreement will authorize work in excess of $100,000, City Council approval is required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED: The City Manager is authorized and directed to enter into an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with PBS&J for additional environmental review services related to the preparation of the Downtown Burlingame Specific Plan, consistent with the Budget Augment Scope of Work attached to this resolution. The original agreement per the Scope of Work authorized work at a maximum cost of $77,905.00, and Budget Augment #1 was previously approved for an additional $12,000 to cover the cost of a Water Use Technical Analysis. The cost of the work outlined in Budget Augment #2 is $11,800.00, bringing the total amount for the amended Professional Services Agreement to $101,705.00, as stated in the Scope of Work, Budget Augment #1, and Budget Augment #2. 2. The City Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the City Manager upon execution of the amendment to Professional Services Agreement.
