HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 085-2011RESOLUTION NO. 85-2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING THE CITY OF BURLINGAME'S PARTICIPATION IN THE PENINSULA FLEET SHARE PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO IMPLEMENT THIS PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Peninsula Fleet Share program ("PFS") has been established by the San Mateo County Transit District ("District") to promote more efficient use of vehicle capacity among agencies within San Mateo County; and WHEREAS, PFS is intended to promote sharing of vehicles among agencies by facilitating "matches" among PFS members interested in lending and/or borrowing vehicles; and WHEREAS, membership in PFS is open to agencies and organizations serving or operating transportation services within the portion of San Mateo County located within the boundaries of the federally -designated San Francisco -Oakland large urbanized area that are interested in forming partnerships to lend or borrow vehicles; and WHEREAS, to join PFS, the City must approve and sign a membership agreement with the District and pay a $75.00 membership fee; and; WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has worked with the Park and Recreation Directors of other San Mateo County public agencies for the past two years to establish this program and City staff recommends that the City become a member of PFS; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame as follows: 1. The City Council of the City of Burlingame hereby approves the City's membership in the Peninsula Fleet Serve Program in a form to be approved by the City Attorney. 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Peninsula Fleet Share membership agreement with the San Mateo County Transit District, to remit the $75.00 membership fee, and to take all other actions and to execute any other agreements which are necessary to effectuate the purpose of this Resolution.
