RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH A CONSULTANT TEAM
LED BY ROYSTON HANAMOTO ALLEY & ABEY (RHAA) FOR DESIGN,
ENGINEERING, AND ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FORMATION OF THE
BURLINGAME AVENUE STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, In April, 2011 Council directed staff to seek a design, engineering, and
financial consultant team to undertake the implementation of streetscape improvements for
Burlingame Avenue; and
WHEREAS, staff prepared a `Request for Proposal' (RFP) for a qualified landscape
architecture and engineering team for the streetscape design and assessment district formation,
sent it out to over sixty (60) firms in the Bay Area, California and Oregon and received ten (10)
responses from interested consultants; and
WHEREAS, after evaluating the proposals, staff selected six teams to interview; the
interview panel rated RHAA as the most qualified team to perform the work due to its extensive
experience, project approach, creative ideas, and successful past performance on similar work for
other agencies; and,
WHEREAS, RHAA has the experience, training and expertise to provide the required
professional services and is willing and able to provide those services to the City under the terns
of the attached Agreement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council hereby approves and authorizes an Agreement with Royston Hanamoto Alley &
Abey (RHAA) for design, engineering, and assessment district formation of the Burlingame
Avenue streetscape improvements, in the form attached hereto and incorporated herein, in an
amount not to exceed $622,439.00.

I, Mary Ellen Kearney, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 18`s day
of July, 2011, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: BAYLOCK, BROWNRIGG, DEAL, KEIGHRAN, NAGEL
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
