RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING THE CLOSURE OF STREETS IN CONNECTION WITH THE
BURLINGAME ART IN THE PARK EVENT IN WASHINGTON PARK
WHEREAS, in June of each year the City sponsors an community event in
Washington Park known as Art in the Park; and
WHEREAS, in connection with this year's event Pacific Fine Arts plans to use
Burlingame Avenue from parking lot X at Myrtle Road to the west side of Carolan
Avenue and, accordingly, has requested that the City close those streets for the duration
of the Art in the Park celebration; and
WHEREAS, the City's Transportation Engineer will review and approve the
traffic control plan for this event;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council approves and authorizes the closure of Burlingame Avenue
from parking lot X at Myrtle Road to the west side of Carolan Avenue from 3:00 p.m. on
Friday, June 10, 2011, until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 in connection with the
Art in the Park festival.
2. Further, the City Council approves the closure of Carolan Avenue from the
south side of Burlingame Avenue to the south side of North Lane for use by Pacific Fine
Arts during the City's Art in the Park festival.
3. Further, the City Council's approval of the street closure is specifically
conditioned upon the following:
a. Pacific Fine Arts shall obtain all required permits from
the appropriate City departments and all other governmental agencies;
b. Pacific Fine Arts shall provide and maintain necessary certificates of
insurance and endorsements naming the City as an additional insured and shall
hold the City harmless against any liability and/or cost arising from any aspect of
the event;
c. Pacific Fine Arts must prepare and provide to the City's Transportation
Engineer a traffic control plan for the event and must implement and comply with
the approved transportation plan; any changes to the traffic control plan must be
reviewed and approved by the City traffic engineer in advance.

that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the Burlingame City
Council held on the 4th day of April, 2011, and was adopted thereafter by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers: BAYLOCK, BROWNRIGG, DEAL, KEIGHRAN, NAGEL
NOES: Councilmembers: NONE
