RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
FINDING UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND
RE -APPOINTING STAN VITICA TO THE
BURLINGAME PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City has established a procedure for the automatic removal of board and commission
members who have failed to attend a certain number of meetings of their respective boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, by recent amendment to that procedure, the City Council may re -appoint commissioners or
board members who have been automatically removed due to absences caused by severe and unusual circum-
stances, without processing such re -appointment through the application interview and selection process; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is aware that serious illness has caused Planning Commissioner Stan
Vistica to be absent from a number of Planning Commission meetings resulting in his automatic removal from the
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes and appreciates the commitment and dedication of Stan Vistica
in his work as a Planning Commissioner and desires to re -appoint him to the Planning Commission to fill out his
current term;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council finds that all of the above -stated facts and those stated in the staff report are
true and correct.
2. Further, the City Council finds that the medical condition of Stan Vistica durine the past year
constitutes a serious illness and unusual circumstance pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No 4-2.011
3. At its meeting of January 10, the Planning Commission unanimously approved a motion
recommending that the City Council re -appoint Stan Vistica as a Burlingame Planning Commissioner.
4. Further, the City Council finds that the public health and welfare of the City of Burlingame, as
well as its aesthetic charm, would be served and enhanced by the re -appointment of Stan Vistica to the
Burlingame Planning Commission.
5. Accordingly, the City Council hereby re -appoints Stan Vistica to the Burlingame Planning
Commission to fill out his un -expired term, effective immediately.

duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council held on the 18r'
day of January, 2011, by the following vote to wit:
