RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH GROUP 4, ARCHITECTURE, RESEARCH + PLANNING, INC
FOR THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR BURLINGAME
LIBRARY MILLENNIUM PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Burlingame Public Library is in the processing of upgrading its facility
with twenty -fust century technology and additional amenities to meet the growing demands of its
customers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously reviewed and approved the Burlingame
Library Millennium Project which includes RFID automated handling system, a technology lab
with 25 to 30 workstations, five group study rooms, a Library Foundation Bookstore, a caf6,
expanded teen space and improved service desks and staff work spaces; and
WHEREAS, Group 4 is a recognized leader in the design and planning of public
libraries having over 30 years' experience in the field and the firm was directly involved in the
design and plan of the original Burlingame Library reconstruction project; and
WHEREAS, Group 4 has the experience, training and expertise to provide the required
professional services and is willing and able to provide those services to the City under the terms
of the attached Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager to execute an Agreement
with Group 4, Architecture, Research + Planning, Inc. for the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Burlingame Library Millennium Project.
I, Mary Ellen Kearney, City Clerk of the City of BuWingame, do hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16' day
of July, 2012, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
