RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING ADJUSTMENT TO SALARY AND BENEFITS FOR
THE CITY ATTORNEY
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered its understandings with the City
Attorney and believes that an adjustment in the terms of employment of the City Attorney
commensurate with the modifications to the Department Head Compensation and Benefit
Plan would be fair and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The City Attorney will receive a 3.0% salary increase effective January 2,
2012, and a 1% increase effective the first pay period in January, 2014.
2. In addition to the 8% employee contribution to PERS retirement, the City
Attorney will pay 1.25% of salary toward the employer PERS retirement contribution
effective the first pay period in March, 2012, for a total contribution of 9.25%. The City
Attorney will pay and additional 0.25%, for a total of 9.5% of salary, toward the
employer PERS retirement contribution effective the first pay period in January, 2014.
3. The City Attorney will continue to contribute 5% of the monthly health plan
premium through December, 2013. Effective January, 2014, the City Attorney will
contribute 5% of the cost of the medical premium for single coverage; 7.5% for two-party
coverage; and 10% of the medical premium for family coverage, as applicable.
4. The City Attorney will continue to receive the same benefits, including
retirement, medical, dental, vision, long term disability, life insurance, professional
development, vacation, sick leave, and administrative leave benefits, as provided to the
Department Heads.

that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on the 3rd day of January, 2012, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
