HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 002-2013RESOLUTION NO. 02-2013 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME RECOGNIZING THE CITY OF BURLINGAME'S PARTICIPATION AS A MEMBER OF THE SAN MATEO COUNTY SUB -REGION FOR THE REGIONAL HOUSING NEEDS ASSESSMENT (RHNA) PROCESS, AND ACCEPTING THE HOUSING NEEDS ALLOCATION ASSIGNED BY THE SUB -REGION TO THE CITY OF BURLINGAME FOR THE 2014-2022 PLANNING PERIOD WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Areas Governments (ABAG) is required by State law to administer the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) process in the Bay Area; and, WHEREAS, under State law ABAG may delegate administration of the program to local jurisdictions within any county that forms a sub -region for the purposes of distributing housing need allocations among the members of the sub -region; and, WHEREAS, all the cities in San Mateo County and the County of San Mateo adopted resolutions to form a Sub -region that was approved subsequently by ABAG in March 2011; and, WHEREAS, the Sub -region has completed the process to develop the proposed final allocation attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Burlingame (County of San Mateo) acknowledges its participation in the San Mateo County Sub -Regional Housing Needs Allocation process and hereby accepts of the proposed Final Allocation for the City of Burlingame (County of San Mateo) for use in its Housing Element as the planning target for housing development for the planning period running from 2014 through 2022; and hereby agrees to the submittal of the Final Housing Allocation to the Association of Bay Area Governments by the Executive Director of the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County, or designated agent, as administrative agent for the Sub -Region. 0, Ann Keighran, M yor I, Mary Ellen Kearney, Clerk of the City of Burlingame, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council held on the 22nd day of January, 2013 by the following vote to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: BAYLOCK, BROWNRIGG, DEAL, KEIGHRAN NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NAGEL h6u&" Mary E116n Kearney, City CIA Draft Sub- Consensus Method: Use Regional Affordability Allocations with all Variance Concentrated in Revised:19NOV12 Regional Above Moderate category, with some Allocation adjustments.
