RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
REJECTING ALL BIDS AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO RE -BID THE TREE
PRUNING AND STUMP REMOVAL CONTRACT 2014-2015
CITY PROJECT #84180
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2014, the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation
Department began advertising for the Tree Pruning and Stump Removal Contract in
the local newspapers and contractor clearing houses for soliciting bids; and
WHEREAS, at the bid opening on August 11, 2014, five bid proposals were
received ranging from $292,110.00 to $741,880.00; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that rejection of all bids and re -bidding the contract
for the Tree Pruning and Stump Removal 2014-2015 Contract is in the best interest of the
City; and
WHEREAS, under the Public Contract Code, the City may in its discretion reject all
bids;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
1. All bids received for the Tree Pruning and Stump Removal 2014-2015 Contract
are hereby rejected.
2. All bonds received in connection with the bids received shall be returned to the
bidders.
3. The Director of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to rebid the project.

foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council
held on the 2nd day of September, 2014, and was adopted thereafter by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers: BROWNRIGG, DEAL, KEIGHRAN, NAGEL, ORTIZ
NOES: Councilmembers: NONE
