SQ -24-1-4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AUTHORIZING ADJUSTMENT OF SALARIES FOR SEASONAL POSITIONS IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE WHEREAS, the California minimum wage is scheduled to increase to $9.00 per hour on July 1, 2014; and WHEREAS, the City has two job classifications, Summer Crew Leader and Junior Recreation Leader, that will fall below the new adjusted minimum wage effective July 1, 2014; and WHEREAS, the City's standard compensation practice is to maintain 5% between steps, an additional two job classifications, Summer Crew Supervisor and Recreation Leader, will be impacted due to compaction as a result of the minimum wage increase and therefore need to be increased; and WHEREAS, there are currently a total of 25 employees in these 4 job classifications and the annual fiscal impact of this adjustment is approximately $11,210. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Burlingame does hereby order the adjustment of four temporary/seasonal classifications as indicated in the attached revised salary schedule.
