RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE 2014 STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM
CITY PROJECT NO. 83830
WHEREAS, On May 6, 2014, the Public Works Department issued a Public Notice Inviting
Sealed Bid Proposals for the 2014 STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM- CITY PROJECT 83830;
WHEREAS, on JUNE 3, 2014, all bid proposals were received and opened before the City
Clerk and representatives of the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, a total of four bid proposals were received with base bids ranging from
$1,108,661.00 to $1,196,581.55; and
WHEREAS, in reviewing the bid documents it was discovered that there were technical
discrepancies in the project specifications which need to be updated to avoid potential problems in
implementing the project; and.
WHEREAS, the project scope needs to be revised to include sub -surface drainage
improvements on Rivera Drive; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, and it is hereby ORDERED, that the Plans and
Specifications, including all addenda, all bids received for Project No. 83830 are hereby rejected;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Burlingame does hereby
resolve, determine, and find as follows:
1. All bonds and security received in connection with the bids received shall be returned to the
bidders.
2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to modify the plans and specifications for said
project and re -advertise it to seek bid proposals.

foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16`h day of
June, 2014, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
