Board of Trustees
Minutes
October 17th,1995
Call To Order:
The meeting of October 17th, 1995 was called to order by President Dunbar
at 4:35pm.
Trustees Present: Berger, Cannon, Dunbar, & Herman
Trustees Absent: Taylor
Staff Present: Alfred Escoffier, City Librarian
Judy Gladysz, Administrative Secretary
Others Present: None
Bills:
M/S/C (Herman/Cannon) unanimously to approve the payment of City
checks.
Minutes of the Meeting of September 19th, 1995:
The Minutes were approved as written and ordered filed.
Correspondence and Communication:
All correspondence had been mailed in the Trustees packets.
Reports:
City Librarian's Report
Librarian Escoffier reported that the invitations to bid for the library
reconstruction will be advertised shortly in the the San Mateo Times and will be
due back the week of November 20th.
President Dunbar asked if the library was currently providing Internet to the
public. Mr. Escoffier said that it is not yet available to the public in Burlingame,
however the capability is available on any Dynix terminal. He further stated that
the County branches, Redwood City and South San Francisco are currently offering
it. The plan is to offer Internet by the end of the calendar year. He said a
demonstration will be offered at the next Board meeting.

System Advisory Board Report: hri
Trustee Cannon gave a brief report on the most rece SAB meeting she had
attended. She said Legislative Day-would be held on nth in Sacramento and
that the Legislative Breakfast was scheduled for April 20th.
Foundation Report:
Trustee Herman extended many, many thanks to Sheri Galvin and Loretta
Blevins as co-chairs of the "Hard Hat Party, an Elegant Affair." Librarian Escoffier
said it was a wonderful team effort. President Dunbar thanked Shirley Robertson
for her help.
Unfinished Business:
a. Employee Achievement Award - Cannon, Herman:
There was brief discussion regarding the Employee Achievement Awards. It
was noted that the General Staff Meeting would be held on Nov. 2nd for
presentation of the awards.
New Business:
a. 1996 Holiday Schedule:
M/S/C (Cannon/Berger) to unanimously approve the 1996 holiday schedule
as presented.
Adjournment:
The meeting of October 17th, 1995 was adjourned at 5:35 pm. The next
regular Board meeting will be held on November 21st, 1995 in the Conference
Room at 130 Park Road.
