HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 032-2014T 7 11j [r7? 1[r7EL I ATTORNEY'SNEW JOB CLASSIFICATION FOR CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER IN THE CITY DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City's code enforcement function has, for over a decade, been performed via a contract for a part-time code enforcement officer, who has recently announced her retirement; and WHEREAS, the City Council has evaluated staffing for the code enforcement function and has determined that the City's needs require the creation of a new full-time Code Compliance Officer position; and WHEREAS, this position will enhance code enforcement within the City, by allowing more follow-through with violators and increased internal coordination with other City personnel involved in code enforcement cases; and WHEREAS, the impact on the City's General Fund of creating an in-house position is less than securing equivalent services through contract; and WHEREAS, this position will allow staff to provide a higher level of service and reduce the burden on other City departments caused by the needs of the code enforcement function.
