ATTORNEY'SNEW JOB CLASSIFICATION FOR CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER IN THE CITY
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City's code enforcement function has, for over a decade, been
performed via a contract for a part-time code enforcement officer, who has recently announced
her retirement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has evaluated staffing for the code enforcement function
and has determined that the City's needs require the creation of a new full-time Code
Compliance Officer position; and
WHEREAS, this position will enhance code enforcement within the City, by allowing
more follow-through with violators and increased internal coordination with other City personnel
involved in code enforcement cases; and
WHEREAS, the impact on the City's General Fund of creating an in-house position is
less than securing equivalent services through contract; and
WHEREAS,
this
position will allow staff to provide a higher level of service
and reduce
the burden on other
City
departments caused by the needs of the code enforcement
function.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Burlingame
hereby approves the Burlingame City Attorney's Department position classification of Code
