RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING
CORRECTION OF THE SALARY STRUCTURE FOR THE CITY CLERK
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, in November of 2009, the electorate of the City passed Measure I making
the office of the Burlingame City Clerk appointive rather than elected, and the appointive City
Clerk position commenced on December 7, 2013 at the end of the current City Clerk's term; and
WHEREAS, prior to December 7, 2013 when the position became appointive, the City
Clerk was compensated the same as City Council members for the elected portion of the
position ($590.00 per month), and was paid an additional salary range of $7,078 to $8,601 per
month for the appointed portion of the position; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that an adjustment in the salary range of the
appointive City Clerk position to include the elective portion of the salary would be fair and
equitable; and
WHEREAS, on December 16, 2013 the City Council approved an increase to the salary
range of the appointive City Clerk position to include the elective portion of the salary; and
WHEREAS, due to a calculation error, the salary range approved on December 16,
2013 resulted in a small decrease in the City Clerk's total salary.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The appointive City Clerk salary range will increase to $7,598.93 to $9,231.73 per
month effective December 7, 2013.

the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 3rd
day of February, 2014, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
