Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. A TO: Traffic, Safety and Parking Commission DATE: January 14, 2008 FROM: Augustine Chou, Traffic Engineer SUBJECT: Commission Procedural Policy Meeting Date: January 17, 2008 RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Commission review the draft document and conduct ongoing discussions to create a final draft. Once a final draft version is established, it is recommended that the Commission vote to adopt the Procedural Policy document. DISCUSSION: Staff has identified a need for the Commission to have a procedural policy document. This policy document will provide the commission members with a single source where they can go to refer to items regarding the commission's operations, procedures, and of conduct. Over the past few years, the Traffic, Safety and Parking Commission has been able to take on an increasingly wide range of important issues concerning the traffic safety and parking matters. In the process, questions have arisen from time to time regarding policy and procedures pertaining to the Commission and its role in the public process. It is the goal of staff to provide the commission with a better, clearer and more concise reference resource to use. A draft version is attached to serve as a starting point for discussion.
