I live at 1251 Capuchino Avenue. This is a one way street between Lincoln and Broadway. There are currently meters near Broadway, 2 hour parking mid block, and then no restrictions in front of our house to Lincoln. I am now receiving parking citations for parking in the red zone in front of our house- which I will do when there is no available street parking. We can accomodate one car in our driveway. However, I find it unfair and annoying, that there are many cars that park on our street for days on end- without consequences. I have reported many vehicles as "abandoned"- however many get away with parking for 7-10+days with just a warning. My husband was actually in the yard recently when a couple arrived in a taxi with their luggage having parked their car directly in front of our house for 10 days, the guys only reply when confronted "Is this a problem?". Yes, it's a problem, as we have many apartments on the street- the apt directly next door is 4 units alone- with no provided parking except 1 vehicle can fit in the driveway. Luckily, 1 top unit is still vacant- the prior family had 2 cars- so it's been a bit better lately -but I'm sure it's temporary. My request would be to have the entire block be 2 hour parking zone all the way to Lincoln. I'm not too excited about an ugly street sign in my window view, but if it will free up parking-Prn for it. This would prevent the Broadway Grill staff from parking all day on the block, and hopefully prevent cars from parking multi days! I would much rather pay for a yearly street permit and be able to park near my home, vs citations. Let me know if this proposal could be considered, Thanks, Renee Ballinger 650-579-4522
