RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR TREE PRUNING & STUMP REMOVAL 2016-
2017 (CITY PROJECT #84800) TO BAY AREA TREE SPECIALISTS, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, AND INCREASING THE
PROJECT'S APPROPRIATION BY $131,700
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the Department of Parks and Recreation to
issue an invitation for bids for the Tree Pruning & Stump Removal, City Project No. 84800; and
WHEREAS, on October 7, 2016, at 2p.m, all bids were received and opened before the
City Clerk and a representative of the Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, the bid of Bay Area Tree Specialist was determined to be the lowest
responsive and responsible bid for the total itemized job in the amount of $1,196,340 for FYI 6-
17 and FY17-18, with an amount of $568,720 for FYI 6-17; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are requested in the amount of $131,700 to complete the
work for FYI 6-17; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the bid documents, the City reserves the right to award,
and City shall award, only those portions of the bid items for which the City has funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The bid of Bay Area Tree Specialist is determined to be the lowest responsive and
responsible bid for said project and the same is hereby accepted.
2. The Council approves a budget amendment to include an additional appropriation of
$131,700 for FYI 6-17 in the Parks Division operating budget for contractual services.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement with the low bidder,
Bay Area Tree Specialist, for the performance of said work, in the form attached to
this resolution.

the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 7th
day of November, 2016, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
