HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 115-2016RESOLUTION NO. 115-2016 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BUREAU VERITAS NORTH AMERICA, INC. INCREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $419,000 TO COVER PLAN CHECK AND BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES RELATED TO THE "BURLINGAME POINT" AND "SUMMERHILL" DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS WHEREAS, on July 5, 2016, the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. for plan check and building inspection services required by the Community Development Department — Building Division, in the amount of $360,000; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Department — Building Division has received Building Permit Applications for two major construction projects that will necessitate engaging the services of the vendor to a greater degree than budgeted for Fiscal Year 2016-2017, and therefore an amendment to the maximum amount to be expended under the terms of the current Professional Services Agreement with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. is necessary; and WHEREAS, all costs for plan check and permit fees are passed through to project proponents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED: 1. The City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate and execute an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. for plan check and inspection services, increasing the contracted amount by $419,000. 2.
