AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPENING OF PUBLIC
STREETS, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, OR HIGHWAYS IN
THE TOWN OF BUBLINGA31E FOR THE PURPOSE OF LAYING OR
CONNECTING PIPE, PIPES, or CONDUITS THEREIN;
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF BURLINGAME DO ORDAIN
S FOLLOWS, TOQWIT:--
Section 1. No person, firm or corporation shat open or
ause to be opended any street, lane+, alley, court or highway within
he corporate limits of the Town of Burlingame, for the purpose of
aging or connecting pipe, pipes or a?�,nduits therein or for any
ther purpose, without forst having obtoained a written permission
rom the Superintendent of Streets of sa:d Town granting such
rivelege;
Section's.. Any person, firm or corporation desiring to
btain said privelege shall make a written application to the
uperintendent of Streets of said Town, setting•;forth the purpose
nd extent of work to be performed or caused to to performed by such
arson, firm or corporation in the street, lane, Q'_Iley, court or
ighway within the Town of Burlingame; acoompying such application
hall be dposited with the Superintendent of Streets the sum of
1.50 for each Bunning foot of paved street and x.50 for each
unning foot of unpaved street to be opened, as security for
erformanoe of said work in accordance with the terms of this
rdinance;

pen -to the inspection of the said Superintendent of the Town of
lurlingame, and such suitable safeguards placed around said work
.s will best insure public protection;

Section 6. iCiixs:p=jX& Not more than 100 yards of any
!street, lane, alley, court or highway in said Town shall be opened
for remain open at any one time during the progress of the work to
�'!pe done under this =dijMMM ordinance;
�r Section 5. All openings or excavations made in said street,
Plane, alley, court or highway shall upon the completion of the work
to be done under this ordinance be forthwith refilled; and such
street, lane, alley, court or highway be restored as near as
possible to its former condition of based surfaoe by the party
or Aparties doing -the work under this ordinoe and to the
satisfation of the Superintendent of Streets of the Town of Burling
Section 6. Any person, firm or corporation,, who by his, her
or its acts or by the acts of his her or its agent, employee or

hereunder stated shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined a sum not to exceed One Hundred
:'Dollars or by imprisonment not to exeoeed one month, or both such
fine and imprisonment. Each separate violation or offense shall be
subject to fine or imprisonment or both.
Section 7. This ordinance shall be posted in three public
`,places within the Town of Burlingame for a period of ten days,P
and shall take effect from and after the date of its passage;�t4
