the City of
Burlingame is hereby amended to read as follo-.4rs:
:1'ection 1. It shall be unla-,r,,--"ul for any person whether as principal
or agent, co-partner, clerk or employed, either for himself or any
-other person, or for anybody,, corporate or otherr-wise., or as 6fficer
of any corporation to commence or carry on in the City of -,--I)urlingar.qe
any occoupation or business in this Ordinance specified, or to employ ar
use as specified in this Ordinance any article or -thing for -which a
proovured a having
license tax is hereinafter imposed, without first

day that said occoupation or business in this Ordinance specified is
conducted or carried on without such license will constitute a violation,
Section 2. Section 9 of Ordinance "o 54 of the City of
Burlingam.e.- is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 9., For every person, firm or corporation who drives or
operates in the pursuit or cour6e of"-bx-Bixzzz an occoupation or business
on the streets of the 0*ity of lzurlinrfam.e., any Aragon or vehicle

hereinafter described, the license tax shall be as follows:
a/ For eu'cn hay wagon, tank wagon, brewery wagon., scavanger
wagon, lumber wagon, iteat wagon, dirt wagon, gravel wagon or cement

wagon, express wagon delivery wagon, or any truck., dray or*van or
other vehicle of a carrying capacity of zxaxtox two tons or more, the
license tax shall be ,l$ per year;
bl Yor each, hay wagon, tank wagon., brewery wagon., scavenger
wagon, luniber wagon, meat wagon,, dirt wagon, gravel wagon or cement
wagon, express wagon, delivery wagon or any truck, dray, xax or van or
other vehicle of a carrying capacity of one ton or more and less than
two, the license tax shall be '--1(',.00 per year;
c/ l'or all other vehicles, -excepting, private carriages, private
automobiles and vehicles used excelusively for pleasure, and excepting
nearse and dead wagons, the license tax shall be per year;
d/ All vehiclq's specified in thda sectionsinclude those operated
or propelled by mot power, as Buell as those drawn by it-Lorses;
eo/ 'T,'he provisions of Section 7 of this Ordinance shall not apply
to the license tax imposed by this Section;
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be published for two successive
publications in the 3urlingame Advance and be in. force and effect from
and after its passage;
