THE BOARD OP TRTJSTELS OF THE CITY OF BT' LINGAIIII-E DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation, agent, servant or employea of same to post or cause
to be posted along or about any street, lane, avenue, alley, court
or hi,,-Yhway within the City of Burlingame by posting or causing to
be posted, affixing or causing to be affixed, lettering or writing
or causing to be lettered or written on or to any tree, pole, post.,
hydrant, pipe, tank, stand, curb, sidewalk, structure or public
building or thing, any bill, placard, poster, hanger, card or sign
or other printed matter or advertising; excepting, however, any
matter permitted by law'. particularly notices of public improvement
or public work posted by a public officer; and excepting temporary
banners stretched across the public street,, for which a permit is
required to be obtained from the Board of Trustees of the City of
Burlingame.
Section 2. An infraction or violation of Section 1 of this
Ordinance is hereby deemed a public miisanee.
Section 3. This ordinance shall only apply to the T,,ublic
street, lane,, avenue, alley., court or highway as more particularly
defined as exteriding in ividth from property line to property line;
and in no case shall this ordinance apply to I.-,rivats property
Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this

thirty days or by both said fine and imprison4ient,
