-i� ORDINANCE R,,GULATING "+:SAS GR OZ -FIT, SFACES ABUTTING
THE Bay Shore Highws.y in the City of Burlingame.
Whereas, it is the desire of the City Council of the
City of Burlingame to secure reasonable accessaoility,
highway safety and fire protection, and to Lroano�e the general
welfare of the City of Burlingame and the sourrounaing
country; and whereas the Bay Shore Highway, running through
our City from the Northerly boundary lire of the City of
Burlingame to the Northerly boundary line of the City of San
Mateo has made necessary the regulation by this Council of
the area of land 'a nd open spaces abutting along the easterly
And westerly boundary lines of said Bay Shore Highway, now
therefore,
The City Council of the City of Burlingame do ordain
as follows:
Section 1. No building or structure of any kind or nature
shall be erected or built on either side of the Bay Shore Highway
extending from the Northerly boundary line of the City of
Burlingame to the Northerly boundary line of the City of San
kateo,within a. dist nce of fifteen feet frc_m the respective
easterly and westerly boundary lines of said Highway, :.ieasured
outside of the Bay Shore Highway itself.
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be fined in a
sum not to exceed C';100, or by im1-risonment in the City Jail
not to e_;:ceed 10 days or by both said fine a, nd im.;risonment.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be published in the
Burlingame 'advance -Star in the manner provided by law and be
in force and effect from and after the date of its rassage.
Introduced the 5th day of November, 1928, and duly and
regularly gassed the, -day of November, 1928, by the following
