ORDINANCE N0. 7® S ORDINANCE GRANTING TO BURLINGAIM SHORE LAND CO., A CORPORATION, THE FRANCHISE, RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO LAY DOWN, CONSTRUCT, RECON- STRUCT, REREW, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE A STANDARD BROAD GAUGE RAIL- ROAD TRACK WITH NECESSARY SWITCHES, APPENDAGES AND APPURTENANCES UPON, ALONG AND ACROSS BROADWAY, A PUBLIC STREET, IN THE CITY OF BURLINGA.TvIE, COUNTY OF SAN MATZO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AND TO OPERATE LOCOMOTIVES, TRAINS AND CARS THEREON BY STEAM, ELECTRIC OR OTHER 210TIVE POWER. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS. 1. The Board of Trustees of the City of Burlingame hereby grants to Burlingame Shore Land Co., a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, its successors and assigns, the franchise, right and privilege to lay downp con- struct, reconstruct, renew and maintain upon, along and across Broadway in said City of Burlingame a standard gauge railroad track with necessary switches, appendages and appurtenances, and to operate thereon locomotives, trains and cars by steam, electric or other motive power. The location of the center line of said railroad track is described as follows, to -wit: BEGINNING at a point in the Southwesterly pro- longation of the Northwesterly line of Broadway, said point being distant 42.0 feet at right angles North- easterly from the center line of westbound track of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company as said track is now laid down and operated, between San Francisco and San Jose; thence Southeasterly parallel to and distant 42.0 feet at right angles Northeasterly from said cen- ter line of westbound track to a point in the South- westerly prolongation of the Southeasterly line of Broadway.
