OF ORDINANCE NO. 71 ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE CREATING A',NALAIR
COiWhtISSION IN AND FOR THE CITY
OF BURLINGkIM AND DEFINING ITS
POWERS .AND DUTIES".
The City Council of the City of Burlingame do ordain as
follows, to -wit:
Section 1. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 71 of the City of
Burlingame entitled "An ordinance creating a water commission in
and for the City of Burlingame and defining its powers and duties",
is amended to read as follows, to -wit:
Section 5. The water commission herein created is to serve
as an advisory board to the City Council of the City of Burlingame,
formerly known as the Board of Trustees of the City of Burlingame
and subject at all times to the final determination of said Board
of Trustees. They shall have the power to manage and controll the
affairs of the water system of the City of Burlingame and the streets
and sewers of said City and to direct the policy and business affairs
of same; to lay out the plans of operation; to develope and protect
the water sources and supply from without as well as from within and
to devise ways and means for the cleaning, repair and improvement of
all streets and sewers within said City of Burlingame; to inspect all
books, papers and other documents pertaining to the running of the
plant or to the streets and sewers; to hear and determine all complaints
by said citizens; to inaugurate a system of accounts and business
methods; to employ and discharge any and all labor connected with
the operation of the municipal water system; to make all rules and
regulations pertaining to the carrying out of the affairs of said
commission.
Section 2. This ordinance shell be published as required by law
and be in force and effe
