A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
ESTABLISHING SALARY RANGES FOR THE CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER AND
SENIOR RISK ANALYST POSITION, CLASSIFICATION PLAN AMENDMENTS, AND
REVISIONS TO EXISTING JOB CLASSIFICATIONS, AND APPROVING THE AMENDED
CITY OF BURLINGAME PAY RATES AND RANGES (SALARY SCHEDULE)
WHEREAS, under the City of Burlingame Civil Service Rules, adopted pursuant to
Municipal Code Section 3.52.030, the City Council is the final authority for approving the
classification and compensation plan, including any amendments to job specifications; and
WHEREAS, the proposed changes are as detailed below:
• Add a 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) Code Compliance Officer and Senior Risk
Analyst position in the City Attorney's Office; and
• Delete a vacant 1.0 FTE Code Compliance Officer position in the City Attorney's
Office; and
• Approve the job specification and set a monthly salary range of $7,324.45 to
$8,866.56 for the new classification of Code Compliance Officer and Senior Risk
Analyst that will be an unrepresented position; and
• Approve the job specification for the existing Police Officer Trainee classification; and
• Revise the job specification for the classification of Water Division Manager; and
• Revise the job specification for the classification of Streets, Storm Drains, and
Sewer Divisions Manager; and
• Revise the title and job specification for the classification of Parks Superintendent to
Parks Superintendent/City Arborist; and
• Amend the City of Burlingame Salary Schedule; and '
WHEREAS, the bargaining units representing the impacted classifications have reviewed
the proposed changes and have not brought forth any objections or concerns.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Burlingame finds,
orders and declares that:
The Council approves the addition of a 1.0 FTE Code Compliance Officer and
Senior Risk Analyst position in the City Attorney's Office; and
2. The Council approves the deletion of a 1.0 FTE Code Compliance Officer
position in the City Attorney's Office; and
3. The Council approves the job specification and monthly salary range of $7,324.45
to $8,866.56 for the new classification of Code Compliance Officer and Senior
Risk Analyst that will be an unrepresented position; and
4. The Council approves the job specification for the existing classification of Police
Officer Trainee; and
5. The Council approves revising the job specification for the classification of Water
Division Manager; and
6. The Council approves revising the job specification for the classification of
Streets, Storm Drains, and Sewer Divisions Manager; and
7. The Council approves revising the title and job specification for the classification
of Parks Superintendent to Parks Superintendent/City Arborist; and
8. The Council adopts the amended City of Burlingame Salary Schedule.

the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 21st
day of August 2017, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
