HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 095-2017RESOLUTION NO. 95-2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AMENDING THE FY 2017-18 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET TO INCLUDE THE 2018 FEDERAL STREET RESURFACING PROJECT The City Council of the City of Burlingame, California does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 1 (SB 1) (2017-2018, Beall) established a Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account to address deferred maintenance on the state highway system and on the local street and road system; and WHEREAS, SB 1 established requirements for holding local governments accountable for the efficient use of public funds to maintain public streets and roads; and WHEREAS, SB 1 requires that eligible cities submit a list of projects proposed to be paid for with these funds pursuant to an adopted city budget to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) per criteria and a schedule established by the Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME THAT: 1. The 2018 Federal Street Resurfacing Project is adopted and incorporated into the City's FY 2017-2018 Capital Improvement Program. 2. The particulars of the project areas follows: a. Anticipated Funding Sources: 2017-2018 RMRA funds ($167,943), Loan repayment funds ($34,010), Measure A funds ($300,000), Gas Tax funds ($300,000), and Federal Grant funds ($546,000). b. Project Description: The work consists of street base failure repair and resurfacing on various streets within the City limits. Construction activities will include asphalt concrete "dig -out" repairs, surface milling, asphalt concrete overlay, traffic markings, new concrete curb ramps and other related work. c. Project Location: The streets within the project will be Trousdale Drive, Broadway, Cadillac Way, and California Drive. d. Project Schedule: The notice inviting bids will be released to contractors in the spring of 2019 with construction completed by the winter of 2019. e. Estimated Useful Life: The City's Pavement Management System calculates a new useful life of 24 years for these repaired roadways.
