AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 227 OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME'ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND ESTABLISHING
THE LOCATION OF RESIDENCES, APARTMENTS, TRADES, INDUSTRIES
AND BUSINESS BUILDINGS AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES FOR
SAID PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR THE CREATING OF A CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ITS
PROVISIONS", BY AMENDING SECTION 9A THEREOF AS ADOPTED BY
ORDINANCE 239 OF SAID CITY OF BURLINGAME, ON AUGUST 11, 19302
REGULATING AND CONTROLLING THE USE OF PROPERTY IN THE
INDUSTRIAL AND UNRESTRICTED DISTRICTS.
The City Council of the City of Burlingame do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 9A of Ordinance 227 of the City of
Burlingame, entitled "An Ordinance Regulating and
Establishing the Location of Residences, Apartments,
Trades, Industries and Business Buildings and
Establishing the Boundaries for said Purposes;
providing for the Creating of a City Planning
Commission and Providing Penalties for the Violation
of its Provisions", as said Section 9A was adopted
by Ordinance 239 on August 11, 1930, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 9A. All property designated as being in
the industrial or unrestricted district may be used
for any industrial purpose, excepting those industries
which, during their operation or as a result thereof,
create odors, gases, smoke, noise, dust, or other
offensive or obnoxious results, or constitute a
nuisance of any kind; provided, however, that any
building or structure proposed to be erected in said
industrial or unrestricted zone must comply with the
fire district requirements, health and building
ordinances, rules and regulations of the City of
Burlingame, and of all the safety, housing, ventilation
and fire laws of the State of California; and provided
further, that no building or structure of any kind
shall hereafter be erected in the industrial or
unrestricted zone until the plans and specifications
therefor shall have been approved by the Planning
Commission of the City of Burlingame and its
recommendation for a permit to issue obtained.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published in the
Burlingame Advance -Star for the period prescribed by
law and shall be in force and effect from and after
the date of its passage.
