OF TIM CITY OF BURLIIIGA E, PROVIDIDTG
A SYSTEM FOR THE ASSESSIMNT, LEVY AND
COLLECTION OF ALL TOWN TAXES IN THE
T0T�9N OF BURLINGAME, BY A1d1ENDING SIIB-
DIVISIONS "R" AND "V" OF SECTION ONE
THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Burlingame do
ordain as follows:
Section One: Subdivision "R" of Section One of Ordinance
No.5 of the City of Burlingame is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"(R) As soon as completed, and on or before the
first Monday in July, the Assessment Book must be placed on
deposit with the Clerk, who must immediately give notice
thereof, and of the time the Board of Equalization will meet
to equalize assessments, by publication in a newspaper
published in said town, or if no newspaper is published
therein, then by posting in three (3) public places in said
town, and in the meantime, the Assessment Book must remain
in his office for the inspection of all persons interested."
Section Two: Subdivision "V" of said Section One of said
Ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:
'I(V) The Board of Trustees shall meet at its first
regular meeting in the month of July in each year, at ten
o'clock in the forenoon of said day, and sit as a Board of
Equalization; and shall continue in session from day to day
until all of the returns of the Assessor have been rectified.
They shall have power to hear complaints, and to correct,
modify or strike out any assessment made by the Assessor,
and may, of their own motion, raise any assessment, upon

notice to the party whose assessment is to be raised."
Section Three. This Ordinance shall be published in the
"Burlingame Advance -Star" for the period prescribed by law,
and be in force and effect immediately from and after the
date of its passage.
Introduced the 18th day of March, 1940, and duly
and regularly passed on the 1st day of April, 1940, by the
following vote:
Ayes- Suck -Hives- Hunt - Coleman - McDonald.
