RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
CITY AND BAY AREA TREE SPECIALISTS, FOR THE REMOVAL OF FIVE
EUCALYPTUS TREES ON BURLINGAME AVENUE AND FOUR EUCALYPTUS TREES
ON EASTON DRIVE IN THE AMOUNT OF $67,555
WHEREAS, on November 17, 2016, the City Council awarded a contract for the annual Tree Pruning
& Stump Removal to Bay Area Tree Specialists; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined the need to remove five Eucalyptus trees on Burlingame Avenue
and four Eucalyptus trees on Easton Drive, which were not included in the original bid awarded on November
17, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the City solicited bids for said work and received two bids, of which Contractor was the
lowest responsible bidder, with a bid price of $67,555.00; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid exceeded the $54,000 estimate for the work; and
WHEREAS, given that the Contractor is already doing work for the City under the contract awarded
and entered into on November 17, 2016, and it is unnecessary to enter into a new contract, the City desires to
amend the existing contract with the Contractor to include the additional removal of five Eucalyptus trees on
Burlingame Avenue and four Eucalyptus trees on Easton Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
RESOLVES AND ORDERS:
The facts in the recitals above and in the staff report are true and correct.
2. The City Manager is authorized to sign the amendment to the agreement on behalf of
the City of Burlingame.
3. The City of Burlingame and the Contractor hereby amend the payment provision of the
agreement dated November 17, 2016 to include $67,555.00 for expanded work.
4. Other than as modified by the Amendment No. 2, all existing terms and conditions of the
original agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
5. An additional appropriation of $13,555 to cover the additional cost is hereby approved for the
FY 2017-18 Parks and Trees Capital Improvement Program.

foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 4th day of
December, 2017, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
