AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 825 OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE
CITY OF BURLINGAME; ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 825 OF SAID ORDINANCE CODE,
FIRING AND ESTABLISHING CLASSIFICATION OF POSITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT IN
THE CITY AND SALARIES SCHEDULED FOR SUCH CLASSIFICATION.
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 625 of the Ordinance Code of the City of
Burlingame, as the same is now established, is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: There is hereby established a new Section 825 of
the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame, fixing and establishing
tables of classification of positions of employment in the City and
the compensation schedule for such classifications in the manner
following:

SECTION 3: The rate of pay set forth in the schedule set forth in
Section 2 hereof represents the standard monthly rate of compensation in
terms of dollars per month.
SECTION 4: Any monthly or hourly rate of pay may be converted into
an equivalent or any other time basis, when, in the judgment of the department
head, the same is advisable, provided, that in determining the equivalent amount
of the different time basis, 168 hours shall be considered a month for employees
regularly assigned to work on a 40 hour week; 185 hours a month for a 44 hour
week, and 201 hours a month for a 48 hour week.
SECTION 5: The range of compensation for each class set forth in
Section 2 hereof, represents the standard rate of pay for full time employees,
unless in the pay schedule it is specifically indicated that the rate of pay
is for part time services. Where employment in a position for which a monthly
rate is established, is on a part time basis, only the proportionate part of the
monthly rate for time actually employed shall be paid.
SECTION 6: The rate of pay herein established shall be retroactive
and effective as of July 1, 1946, and the City Clerk and City Treasurer are
hereby authorized to pay to all City employees, regularly employed on July
1, 1946, such additional amount of compensation as such employee would have
received had this Ordinance been effective as of the last mentioned date.

SECTION 7: This Ordinance shall be published once as required
