HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 120-2017RESOLUTION NO. 120-2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING THE PROCUREMENT OF 17 VEHICLES FOR THE CITY'S FLEET SYSTEM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE PROCUREMENT WHEREAS, the Fleet Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for vehicle maintenance services of the City's fleet, and for managing the vehicle replacement program in a sustainable and effective manner to ensure the City's fleet is in good operating condition; and WHEREAS, the Fleet Division has identified 17 vehicles for replacement this fiscal year; and WHEREAS, although 16 of these vehicles were due to be replaced in previous years, staff was able to extend their useful life through proactive maintenance; and WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame is a member of the National Joint Powers Alliance (NPJA); and WHEREAS, the NJPA procurement process is leveraged nationally and satisfies the City's competitive bid requirements; and WHEREAS, staff has been able to secure lowest responsible bid for the procurement of 12 of the 17 vehicles through the NJPA contract from the National Auto Fleet Group as follows: — One Ford F-150 XL Truck at the bid price of $28,125.58; — Two Ford Transit Connect Vans (Model SE) at the bid price of $52,203.36; — One Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicle at the bid price of $27,837.88; — Three Ford Interceptor Utility vehicles at the bid price of $118,312.68; — One Ford F550 Dump Truck at the bid price of $73,179.09; — Two Ford F350 Super Duty Trucks at the bid price of $98,017.75; — Two Ford F550 Super Duty Trucks at the bid price of $265,085.85; and WHEREAS, the remaining five vehicles were not offered through the NPJA contract, and the procurement was done through the City's standard bidding process as follows: — One Toyota Tacoma truck from Toyota 101 in Redwood City, California at the bid price of $32,860.00; — Two Parking Enforcement Go -4 Interceptors from Municipal Maintenance Equipment (MME) located in Sacramento, California at the bid price of $69,426.00; — Two Police Enforcement Motorcycles (Harley Davidson) from Dudley Perkins in South San Francisco, California at the bid price of $51,049.69. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and ORDERED, the above submitted lowest responsible bids are approved and adopted; and the City Manager or her designee is authorized to execute the above said procurement. I, MEAGHAN HASSEL-SHEARER, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 611 day of November, 2017, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS:BEACH, BROWNRIGG, COLSON, EIGHRAN, ORTIZ NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS:NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS:NONE
