AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1971, ARTICLE 508 PART X,
OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME DIVID-
ING THE CITY INTO DISTRICTS AND REGULATING THE USE OF
SAID DISTRICTS BY ADDING TO SAID SECTION SUBSECTION F
REQUIRING THE PROVISION OF PARKING SPACES FOR COMMERCIAL
BUILDINGS IN RETAIL COMMERCIAL (C-1) AND SERVICE
BUSINESS (C-2) DISTRICTS.
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1_ Section 1971, Article 50, Part X. of the
Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new subsection to be entitled subsection "f.
Commercial buildings (C-1 and C-2 Districts)", which said sub-
section f shall provide and read as follows:
"f. Commercial buildings (C-1 and 0-2 Districts)
The owners of commercial buildings shall provide
parking spaces of 200 square feet each on the same
lot, on contiguous property, or on property no more
than 500 feet distant from any boundary on the lot
on which the building is erected, as set forth in the
following table of requirements,

Medical or dental offices,
clinics, or similar uses

Property within an assessment district formed for
the purchase and operation of publicly owned parking
lots or areas shall be exempt from the requirements of
this subsection f.
Existing commercial buildings shall be excepted
from these provisions; provided, however, that major
changes or reconstruction shall cause such commercial
building to come within the requirements hereof, For

building and where the cost of such change shall
be 100% or more of the assessed valuation of the
existing building."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published as required

the foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council held on the 3rd day of October, 1955, and
adopted thereafter at a regular meeting held on the 17th day
