AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE
CITY OF BURLINGAME BY REPEALING SECTION 1226
REGULATING VEHICLE PARKING IN PARKS AND SCHOOL
GROUNDS AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 1226 REGULATING
THE OPERATION AND PARKING OF VEHICLES AND MOTOR
VEHICLES ON AND IN PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, OTHER
CITY PROPERTY AND SCHOOL GROUNDS.
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: Section 1226 of the Ordinance Code of the City
of Burlingame and all other provisions of said Code in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed and a
new Section 1226 is hereby adopted reading as follows:
"SECTION 1226
a. It shall be unlawful for any person to
ride, drive or operate a vehicle or motor vehicle in or on any
public park, playground or other city property or school ground
except as hereinafter provided.
"b. Whenever the Chief of Police shall determine that
traffic safety requires that the operation, driving, parking or
standing of vehicles or motor vehicles in public parks, play-
grounds or other city property or school grounds be prohibited,
limited or restricted the Chief of Police shall have the power and
authority to order signs to be erected or posted indicating that
the operation, driving, parking or standing of vehicles or motor
vehicles is thus prohibited, limited or restricted. When signs
authorized by the provisions of this section are in place, giving
notice thereof, no person shall operate, drive, park or stand any
vehicle or motor vehicle contrary to the directions or provisions
of such signs."
SECTION 2: This ordinance shall be published once as
required by laws

foregoing ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting held by
the City Council, on the 20th day of June, 1955, and adopted
thereafter at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of July, 1955,
by the following vote:
