AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE
CITY OF BURLINGAME BY ADDING THERETO A NEW
SECTION 1222.9 PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF COM-
MERCIAL VEHICLES ON BROADWAY BETWEEN CALIFORNIA
DRIVE AND EL CAMINO REAL EXCEPT AT LOADING ZONES
DESIGNATED FOR THEIR USE (AND REGULATING THE USE
OF SUCH LOADING ZONES
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as
follows:
Section 1 - The Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 1222.9 which shall
provide and read as follows:
Section 1222.9 - It shall be unlawful for the driver of any
commercial vehicle to park such commercial vehicle on Broadway
between California Drive and the E1 Camino Real between the
hours of 9:00 o'clock a, m. and 6:00 o'clock_ p.m. on any day
except Sundays and Holidays except at such loading zones as may
be designated by the Chief of Police.
It shall be unlawful to stop or park such commercial vehicle
at or within such loading zones (for a period in excess of 30
minutes or) in a manner or position other than parallel to the
adjacent street curb (or otherwise than required by Section 1223
of this Code.)
For the purpose of this Ordinance a 'commercial vehicle'
is a vehicle of a type required to be registered under the
California Vehicle Code used or maintained for the transportation
of persons for hire, compensation or profit or designed, used
or maintained primarily for the transportation of property.
(It shall be unlawful to stop or park any motor vehicle
other than a commercial vehicle within such loading zones except
for the purposes of picking up or discharging passengers or goods
wares or merchandise, in which event all of the provisions of
this Section 1222.9 and of Section 1223 of this Code shall apply
to such motor vehicle; provided, however, that it shall be
unlawful to stop or park any such motor vehicle in any such
loading zone for a period in excess of 15 minutes.)
Section 2 - The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and
directed to procure and install appropriate signs giving notice
of the provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 3 - This Ordinance shall be published as required by
law.

the City Council held on the 7th day of February, 1955 and
adopted thereafter at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of
February, 1955, by the following vote:
