AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME BY REPEALING SECTION 1225 of SAID CODE AND
ORDINANCES AMENDATORY THEREOF AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION
1225 PROVIDING FOR THROUGH HIGHWAYS
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. The Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame
is hereby amended by repealing Section 1225 and all Ordinances
amendatory thereof and by adding a new Section 1225 which shall
provide and read as follows:
"Section 1225. THROUGH HIGHWAYS
The following streets are designated through highways
within the meaning of and in conformity to the provisions of
Section 471 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California,
and the Chief of Police is authorized and directed to erect
and place or cause to be erected and placed at all inter-
sections with said streets the signs provided for in Section
471, to -wit:
(a) California Drive from the intersection of Peninsula
Avenue to the intersection of Broadway;
(b) El Camino Real from the intersection of Peninsula
Avenue to the intersection of Adeline Drive;
(c) Howard Avenue from El Camino Real to the intersection
of Humboldt Road;
(d) Broadway from the intersection of California Drive
to the intersection of Vancouver Avenue;
(e) Hillside Drive from El Camino Real to the intersectior.
of Alvarado Avenue;
(f) Occidental Avenue from the intersection of Barroilhet
Avenue;
(g) Primrose Road from the intersection of Bellevue
Avenue to Burlingame Avenue;
(h) Bayshore Highway from the intersection of Burlingame
Avenue to the intersection of Broadway;
(i) Oak Grove Avenue from the intersection of E1 Camino
Real to the intersection of Bayshore Highway;
(j) Peninsula Avenue from Humboldt Road to E1 Camino Rea
(k) Carmelite, Avenue from the intersection of California
Drive to the intersection of Vancouver Avenue:
1. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any
vehicle to park said vehicle on the southerly side of
Carmelita Avenue between California Drive and El
Camino Real between the hours of 7 o'clock a.m. and
9 o'clock a.m.
2. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any
vehicle to park said vehicle on the northerly side of
Carmelita Avenue between California Drive and E1
Camino Real between the hours of 4 o'clock p,m, and
6 o'clock p.m.
3, Any vehicle parked on Carmelite Avenue in
violation of the foregoing provisions may be ordered
by the Police Department to be towed into a public
garage and all expense attendant upon the moving and
storage of said vehicle shall be borne by the owner
of said vehicle.
(1) Easton Drive from E1 Camino Real to the easterly curb
line of Cabrillo Avenue;
(m) Easton Drive from the westerly curb line of Cabrillo
Avenue to the intersection of Vancouver Avenue."
SECTION 2, The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and
directed to procure and install appropriate signs giving notice
of the provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY. If any section, subsection,
sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any p
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of
any court or competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance,
The City Council of this City hereby declares that it would have
adopted this Ordinance and each section, subsection$ sentence,
clause, phrase or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that
any one or more sections, subsections, clauses, phrases, or
portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional,
SECTION 4. This Ordinance Ushpublished as required
by law,

do hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was introduced at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16th day of
January, 1956, and adopted thereafter at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on the 6th day of February, 1956, by the
following vote:
