Home My WebLink AboutOrd 0659ORDINANCE NO. 65-9 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 825 OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AND ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 825 OF SAID ORDINANCE CODE, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION OF POSITIONS AND EMPLOYMENT AND THE COMPENSATION AND SALARIES THEREFOR FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, 1957 The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 825 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame, as established September M.-1 -9L5)&, by Ordinance No. -M. and ordinances amendatory thereof, is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. There is hereby established a new Section 825 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame, fixing and establishing the classifications and salaries, compensation, and rates of pay during the month of October, 1957, for employees of the City regularly occupying civil service positions allocated to them as of July 1, 1957; and any employee subsequently entering the classified service shall receive, during the month of October, 1957, the entrance rate fixed in the schedule hereinafter set forth for the classification for which such employee is appointed. SECTION 3. SECTION 5. The Police Officer assigned to extra duty as of Traffic shall receive extra compensation of Twenty Five ars per month. SECTION 6, The Police Officer assigned to extra duty as Spector of Police shall receive extra compensation at the rate of ty Five Dollars per month. SECTION 7. The person designated to make a stenographic of proceedings of the Council meetings shall receive such ation as the City Council may from time to time provide by solution. SECTION 8. The rates of pay set forth in the foregoing represent the standard monthly rate of compensation in erms of dollars per month based upon full time employment except or the City Attorney whose rate of compensation is based upon part ime employment and who may be paid such additional compensation as City Council may fix and determine. SECTION 9. The City Council hereby finds and determines t in the interest of economy and because the necessity for the 3 .. position involved no longer exists, the classification of Alarm Operator"Stenographer should be, and it is hereby, abolished effective October 5, 1957. SECTION A. If any section, subsection, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent juris-. diction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the re- maining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of this City hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsection, clauses, phrases, or portions may be declared invalid or un" constitutional.
