HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0647ORDINANCE NO. 647 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME, CALIFORNIA9 DECLARING INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF BURLINGAME, TO -WIT: TOLEDO AVENUE AND GALVEZ COURT; REFERRING TO A MAP OR PLAN ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FOR PARTICULARS AS TO THE PROPOSED VACATION; FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN OR OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED VACATION The City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, does ordain as follows: Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require and that it is the intention of the said Council to vacate those portions of the following described public streets within the City of Burlingame, to -wit: DESCRIPTION OF STREETS TO BE VACATED A portion of Toledo Avenue and a portion of Galvez Court, situate in the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, as shown on that certain map entitled "MILLS ESTATE NO. 5 BURLINGAME SAN MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", which map was recorded on August 5, 1955 in Volume 43 of Maps at pages 13 and 14 of Official Records of San Mateo County, California, and more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection of the northeasterly line of Toledo Avenue with the northwesterly boundary of the sub- division as shown on the above described map; thence from said Point of Beginning along said northwesterly boundary S 450451 W 54.10 feet to the southwesterly line of Toledo Avenue; thence along said southwesterly line from a tangent which bears S 5705510211 E on the are of a curve to the right having a radius of 393.00 feet and a central angle of 1302570211, an arc length of 92.03 feet to a point of reverse curvature; thence tangent to the preceding curve on the arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 627.00 feet and a central angle of 270001, an arc length of 295.47 feet; thence tangent to the preceding curve S 610301 E 100.00 feet; thence tangent to the preceding course on the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of 173.00 feet and a central angle of 840007, an arc length of 253.63 feet; thence S 22030¢ W 42.64 feet to the northerly line of Block 36 as said Block is shown on that certain map entitled "MILLS ESTATE NO. 9 BURLINGAME SAN MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA" which map was filed December 3, 1956 in Volume 46 of Maps at pages 33 and 34 of Official Records of San Mateo County, California; thence along said northerly line S 84015701" E 47.51 feet, and N 31034Qi5" E 48.78 feet to the easterly line of Toledo Avenue; thence along said easterly line from a tangent which bears N 17038x'34" E on the arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 227.00 feet and a central angle of 27041408" an arc length of 109.69 feet to a point of reverse curvature; thence tangent to the preceding curve on the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of 20.00 feet and a central angle of 74002434" an arc length of 25.85 feet to the southeasterly line of Galvez Court; thence along said southeasterly line N 640 E 10.63 feet to the southwesterly line of Loyola Drive as said Drive is shown on said map of Mills Estate No. 9; thence along said southwesterly line N 610 W 87.91 feet, and N 290 E 31.02 feet to the northeasterly line of Toledo Avenue; thence alon said northeasterly line, from a tangent which bears N 36 38rl3" W on the arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 227.00 feet and a central angle of 2505lt47" an are length of 98.50 feet; thence N 610304 W 100.00 feet; thence tangent to the preceding course on the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of 573.00 feet and a central angle of 270004 an arc length of 270.02 feet to a point of reverse curvature; thence tangent to the preceding curve on the arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 447.00 feet and a central angle of 12058425" an arc length of 101.22 feet to the Point of Beginning. Section 2. A map showing and delineating the said streets proposed to be vacated under these proceedings is on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and reference is hereby made to said map for particulars as to said vacation. Section 3. That the said Council hereby elects to proceed under Sections 8320 to 8331 inclusive of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. Section 4. Notice is hereby given that Monday, the 6th day of May, 1957, at 8:00 o4clock p.m., at the Council Chambers of the City Council in the City Hall in the City of Burlingame is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in the proposed vacation of said portions of said public streets. Section 5. The Clerk of said City shall cause this ordinance to be published in the ADVANCE,STAR, a bi-weekly news- paper published and circulated in said City, which said newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose. - 2 - I Section 6, At least 10 days before the date set for hearing, the Superintendent of Streets of said City shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of those portions of said public streets proposed to be vacated at least three (3) notices of vacation, not more than 300 feet apart, stating the time and place of hearing and the passage of this ordinance. 60A./' nM.0 T I, Herbert K.
