HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0680ORDINANCE NO. 680 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 825 OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AND ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 825 OF SAID ORDINANCE CODE, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION OF POSITIONS AND EMPLOYMENT AND THE COMPENSATION AND SALARIES THERE- FOR FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, 1958 The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as follows: Section 1, Section 825 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame, as established September 39 1957, by Ordinance No. 660, and ordinances amendatory thereof, is hereby repealed. Section 2. There is hereby established a new Section 825 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame, fixing and establis; ing the classifications and salaries, compensation, and rates of pay during the month of October, 1958, for employees of the City regularly occupying civil service positions allocated to them as of July 1, 1958; and any employee subsequently entering the class- ified service shall receive, during the month of October, 1958, the entrance rate fixed in the schedule hereinafter set forth for the classification for which such employee is appointed. Section 3. The rates of pay set forth in the foregoing represent the standard monthly rate of compensation in rms of dollars per month based upon full time employment except the City Attorney whose rate of compensation is based upon part e employment and who may be paid such additional compensation as City Council may fix and determine. Section 9. The Police Officer assigned to the extra duty of operating a motorcycle shall receive extra compensation of Twenty- five Dollars per month. Section 5. The Police Officer assigned to extra duty as Director of Traffic shall receive extra compensation of Twenty-five Dollars per month. Section 6. The Police Officer assigned to extra duty as Inspector of Police shall receive extra compensation at the rate Df Twenty-five Dollars per month. Section 7. The person designated to make a stenographic record of proceedings of the Council meetings shall receive such comperes#ion as the City Council may from time to time provide by resolution. Section 8. The rates of pay set forth in the foregoing represent the standard monthly rate of compensation in rms of dollars per month based upon full time employment except the City Attorney whose rate of compensation is based upon part e employment and who may be paid such additional compensation as City Council may fix and determine. Section 9. If any section, subsection, clause, phrase, or tion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or constitutional by the decision of any court of competent juris- - 3 - diction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the re- maining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of this City hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof,, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, clauses, phrases, or portions may be declared invalid or un- constitutional.
