APPROVING ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF BURLINGAME OF UNINHABITED
CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "LAND OF FIR—LEAN COMPANY"
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the City Council of the City
of Burlingame a written petition signed by the owners of not less than one—
fourth of the land in the territory proposed to be annexed by area, and by
assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of
San Mateo, the county in which the said territory is situated, requesting that
such territory be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City of
Burlingame, a municipal corporation, and which territory is situated in the
County of San Mateo, State of California, and is more specifically described
herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City on September 21, 1959, adopted a
resolution giving notice of such proposed annexation, and said resolution
specifically described the boundaries of said territory proposed to be annexed
to said City, and contained a notice of the day, hour and place when and where
any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed
and having any objections to the proposed annexation might appear and protest
against said proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, notice of said hearing was duly published and mailed as required
by the provisions of Section 35311 of the Government Code of the Sate of
California; and
WHEREAS, at the time of said hearing no person owning any real property
within said territory appeared and objected to such proposed annexation or show
cause why such territory should not be so annexed; and
WHEREAS, the persons signing said petition are hereby found to be all of
the owners of the real property proposed to be annexed and all said owners have
consented in writing prior to the adoption of this ordinance that the property
within the annexed area may be taxed to pay its proportionate share of indebted—
ness and liability of the City of Burlingame contracted prior to, or existing at
the time of, its annexation to the City of Burlingame.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ordered that:
1. That certain uninhabited contiguous territory situated in the County of
San Mateo, State of California, and more particularly described herein, be, and
it hereby is annexed to the City of Burlingame, and this Council does hereby
approve of said annexation pursuant to the provisions of Title 4, Division 2,
Part 2, Chapter 1, Article 5 of the Government Code of the State of California,
entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", being sections
35300 to 35326 (both inclusive) of said Government Code,
Said uninhabited contiguous territory is situated in the County of San
Mateo, State of California, and is more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the boundary line of the City of Burlingame
said Point of Beginning being the point of intersection of the
southeasterly right—of—way line of Canyon Road and the southerly
right—of—way line of EI Prado Road, as said rights of way lines are
shown on that certain map entitled "EL QUANITO ACRES, BURLINGAME,
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", which map was filed in the office of
the Recorder of San Mateo County, State of California, on April 8,
1957 in Book 47 of Maps at Pages 13 and 14; thence from said Point
of Beginning easterly along said southerly line of El Prado Road,
said right of way line being a portion of said City Boundary line
as described in Ordinance No, 633 of the City of Burlingame adopted
on August 20, 1956 by the City Council, 337,72 feet to its inter—
section with the southwesterly line of the lands described in Deed
from Panama Realty Company, a corporation, to Jack t9" Cameron and
wife, dated April 23, 1954, and recorded May 25, 1954 in Book 2588
of Official Records of San Mateo County at Page 140 (59033—L);
thence leaving said City Boundary line southeasterly along said
southwesterly line of Cameron 134,96 feet to the northwesterly line
of the lands described in deed from Panama Realty Company, a
corporation, to Theodore R. Broida and wife, dated December 7, 1953
and recorded December 8, 1953 in Book 2509 of Official Records of
San Mateo County at Page 735 (23680—L); thence southwesterly along
said northwesterly line 406,89 feet to the northerly line of the
lands described in deed from Panama Realty Company, a corporation,
to Clinton V. Ervin, Jr, and wife, dated December 6,, 1954 and
recorded December 15, 1954 in Book 2707 of Official Records of San
Mateo County at Page 718 (10418—M); thence westerly along said
northerly line 240 feet to the southeasterly line of Canyon Road,
as said road is shown on that certain map entitled "BURLINGAME
HILLS NO. 3, SAN MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", which map was filed
in the office of the Recorder of San Mateo County on August 8, 1927
in Book 16 of Maps at Pages 23, 24 and 25; thence northerly along
the said southeasterly line of Canyon Road 328.24 feet returning to
the Point of Beginning,
2, In accordance with the consent in writing as aforesaid of all of the
owners of the hereinbefore described territory, and pursuant to the provisions
of Section 35319 of said Government Code, said territory shall be taxed for its
proportionate share of all indebtedness of said City of Burlingame contracted
prior to, or existing at the time of such annexation,

3. This ordinance shall be published once in the Burlingame Advance—Star
and shall be effective upon the expiration of thirty days after the date of
its adoption.

ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
2nd day of November , 1959, and adopted thereafter at a
regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16th day of November ,
