HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0716ORDINANCE NO. 916 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 825 OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AND ADGFTING A NEW SECTION 825 OF SAID ORDINANCE CODE, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSITIONS AND EMPLOYMENT AND THE COMPENSATION AND SALARIES THEREFOR The City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 825 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame, as established by Ordinance No. 697 , amended by Ordinance 7-1ft , is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. There is hereby established a new Section 825 of the Ordinanc Code of the City of Burlingame, fixing and establishing the classifications and salaries, compensation, and rates of pay for employees of the City regularl occupying civil service positions allocated to them as of July 1, 1960; and any employee subsequently entering the clakfied service shall receive the entrance rate fixed in the schedule hereinafter set forth for the classifica- tion for which such employee is appointed. SECTION 3. The Patrolman assigned to the extra duty of operating a moto- cycle shall receive extra compensation of Twenty-five Dollars per month. SECTION 5. The Patrolman assigned to extra duty as Director of Traffic shall receive extra compensation of Twenty-five Dollars per month. SECTION 6. The Fatrolman assigned to extra duty as Inspector of Folice, Detective, or Juvenile Officer shall receive extra compensation at the rate of Twenty-five Dollars per month. SECTION 7. The Fireman assigned to extra duty as Equipment Mechanic's Helper shall receive extra compensation at the rate of Twenty-five Dollars per month„ SECTION 8. The person designated to make a stenographic record of proceedings of the Council meetings shall receive such compensation as the City Council may from time to time provide by resolution. SECTION 9. The rates of pay set forth in the foregoing schedule repre- sent the standard monthly rate of compensation in terms of dollars per month based upon full employment except for the City Attorney whose rate of com- pensation is based upon part time employment and who may be paid such addition compensation as the City Council may fix and determine. SECTION 10. If any section, subsection, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by - 3 - the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of this City hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, clauses, phrases, or portions may be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 11. The effective date of this ordinance is September 1, 1960. SECTION 12. This ordinance shall be published as required by law. J I, Herbert K.
