AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME BY ADDING
THERETO A SECTION NUMBERED 1221—C LOWERING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR
The City Council of the City of Burlingame determines and finds upon thi
basis of an engineering and traffic survey that the limit of 65 miles per hour
on Bayshore Highway is more than is reasonable or safe upon any portion of said
street and said City Council further determines and finds that a prima facie
speed limit of 35 miles per hour will facilitate the orderly movement of traffic
on Bayshore Highway and is reasonable and safe.
Said City Council therefore ordains as follows:
SECTION fl. The Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame is hereby
amended by adding thereto Section 1221—C which shall read and provide as follows
"Section 1221—C. The prima facie speed limit for
vehicular traffic on Bayshore Highway, a public street, is
hereby determined and declared to be 35 miles per hour."
SECTION 2. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to
procure appropriate signs giving notice of said prima facie speed limit and to
erect the same on and along Bayshore Highway.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after its adoption
or 30 days after said signs are erected, whicheverdaAe shall first occur.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall 1pe ub is,e once as required by law.
