AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 753 AND
SECTION 1222.27 OF THE 1941 ORDINANCE CODE OF
THE CITY OF BURLINGAME ESTABLISHING PARKING
REGULATIONS GOVERNING MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain
as follows:

Section 1. Section 1222.27 of the 1941 Ordinance Code of
the City of Burlingame added to said Code by Ordinance No. 753
is amended to read and provide as follows:
01Section 1222.27 MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS.

(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to park any j
vehicle on any property owned, possessed or maintained
by the city as a public municipal parking lot for a

period of time longer than may be fixed and determine4
by resolution or ordinance of the City Council.

(2) No such ordinance or resolution shall become
effective prior to the installation of appropriate j
signs giving notice of the provisions of such resolu-I
tion or ordinance."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published as required
by law.
Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an j
i
emergency ordinance effective upon its adoption. The City Council
hereby declares the following emergency to exist: An off-street
parking program for the acquisition and improvement of 14 muni-
cipally owned and maintained parking lots by special assessment
proceedings has been initiated by the City Council; certain of
said lots have been acquired and improved and others of said lots;
are presently being acquired and will be improved in implementation

of said program; it is necessary that the City Council have
immediate control of the hours of parking upon saidlots in order
to insure their best possible use; the best possible use for the
benefit of the citizens of the city of Burlingame and of the
public generally may not be known until after a substantial
period of maintenance and operation of said lots; and it is
necessary during the interim between the acquisitions of said
lots and the final determination of their best possible hours of
use, that the control of the City Council be flexible and be
subject to expeditious modification.

the foregoing ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council held on the 20th day of January , 1964,
and adopted thereafter at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 3rd day of February_, 1964, by the following
