AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME ADOPTING
BY REFERENCE A COMPREHENSIVE ORDINANCE CODE TO
BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED .AS THE BURLINGAME MUNICIPAL
CODE, AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH SAID CODE
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. That the City Council does hereby find and deter-
mine as a result of study and investigation by the City and its
City Attorney, that the Burlingame Municipal Code is an approved
code for adoption by reference within the meaning of §50022.1 of
the Government Code of the State of California.
Section 2. That pursuant to the provisions of Sections
50022.1 to 50022.8, both inclusive, of the Government Code of the
State of California, the City Council of the City of Burlingame

does hereby adopt by reference the Burlingame Municipal Code with
amendments thereto; that three (3) copies shall be filed in the

office of the City Clerk of the City of Burlingame at least 15
days preceding the hearing hereinafter provided for, and shall be
kept there for public inspection while said Code is in force all
of which copies shall be certified to be true copies by the City
Clerk; and that following the adoption of said Municipal Code
the City Clerk shall at all times maintain a reasonable supply
of copies of said Code available for purchase by the public at

a moderate price, not to exceed the actual cost thereof to the

City of Burlingame.
Section 3. That after the first reading of the title of this
ordinance and the title of the Code to be adopted hereby, there
shall be a public hearing thereon on the first day of March, 1965,
and notice thereof shall be given in accordance with § 6066 of
the Government Code of the State of California by publication of
a notice in the Advance -Star, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated within the City of Burlingame.
Said notice shall be published once a week for two successive
weeks. The period of the notice shall commence on the first day
of the publication and terminate at the end of the fourteenth
day including therein the first day, the first of which publica-
tions shall be at least 15 days, and the second of which publica-
tions shall be at least 8 days, preceding the date of said hearing.
Said notice shall state the time and place of said hearing and
shall state that copies of said Burlingame Municipal Code being
considered for adoption are on file with the City Clerk of the
City of Burlingame and are open to public inspection. Said notice
shall contain a description sufficient to give notice to interested
persons of the purpose of the Code to be adopted by reference and
the subject matter thereof. The City Council does hereby find
and determine that the following is a sufficient description to
be incorporated in said notice to give notice to interested persons'
of the purpose of the Code and the subject matter thereof:
A municipal code entitled "Burlingame Municipal Code"
comprising all general ordinances of the City of
Burlingame up to and including Ordinance No. 804
passed and adopted April 20, 1964.
Section 4. That in accordance with §50022.7 of the Government
Code of the State of California, the City Council of the City of
Burlingame may propose and adopt amendments to the Burlingame
Municipal Code, and, in the discretion of the City Council, such
amendments may be adopted by reference as provided in §50022.7
of the Government Code of the State of California, or an ordinance]
may be enacted in the regular manner, setting forth the entire
text of such amendment.
Section 5. That the Burlingame Ordinance Code of 1941 and
all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
Burlingame Municipal Code are hereby repealed. Ordinance No. 805
and all ordinances subsequent thereto are excluded from this repeal

Section 6. That it is hereby ordained that said Burlingame
Municipal Code be adopted by reference and that said Code need
not be published.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published once within 15 days from and after its adoption, in
the Advance -Star, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Burlingame, and 30 days
from and after its final passage, it shall take effect and be
in full force.
