AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF BURLINGAME BY ADDING TO §13.24.010
A SUBPARAGRAPH NUMBERED 6 INCREASING THE PRIMA
FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON
CAROLAN AVENUE BETWEEN BROADWAY AND OAK GROVE
AVENUE FROM 25 MILES PER HOUR TO 35 MILES PER
HOUR
The City Council of the City of Burlingame determines
finds upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that a
speed greater than 25 miles per hour will facilitate the orderly
movement of vehicular traffic on Carolan Avenue, a public street
other than a state highway, between Broadway and Oak Grove Avenue,
and that a prima facie speed limit of 35 miles per hour on said
public street is reasonable and safe.
Said City Council therefore ordains as follows:
Section 1: Subparagraph 6 is hereby added to §13.24.010
which shall read and provide as follows:
116. Carolan Avenue between Broadway and
Oak Grove Avenue."
Section 2: The Director of Public Works is hereby auth-
orized and directed to procure appropriate signs giving notice of
said prima facie speed limit and to erect the same along Carolan
Avenue between Broadway and Oak Grove Avenue.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective 30 days
after its adoption or when said signs are thereafter erected,
whichever shall first occur.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be published as re-
quired by law.

the foregoing ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on the lst day of August, 1966, and adopted
thereafter at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
15th day of August , 1966 , by the following vote:

Martin.
