AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING OF
VEHICLES ON PUBLIC MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS.
The City Council of the City of Burlingame does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Chapter 13.36 of the Burlingame Municipal Code
is amended by adding thereto Section 13.36.051 through 13.36.058,
inclusive, which shall read and provide as follows:
°13.36.051. Litter and Refuse. It shall be unlawful to throw,
place, or deposit any trash, litter, paper or any
refuse upon the pavement or in the landscaped areas of
any property owned, possessed or maintained by the
City as a municipal parking lot.
13.36.052. Removal of Unattended Vehicles. Vehicles which are
left unattended upon any municipal parking lot for a
period of seventy-two (72) or more consecutive hours
may be caused to be towed away by the Chief of Police.
13.36.053. Repairs Prohibited. It shall be unlawful to grease,
service, repair, wash or polish any vehicle upon a
public municipal parking lot; provided, that emergenc
or temporary services or repairs may be performed or
made for the purpose of enabling disabled vehicles to
be removed.
13.36.054. Vehicles of excessive length. No vehicles, includin€
trucks, tractors, trailers, camping vehicles or combiri-
ations thereof which exceed twenty (20) feet in over-
all length shall be parked at any time upon a public
municipal parking lot. This prohibition shall not
apply to trucks or delivery vehicles which are stoppe(
or parked temporarily for loading or unloading merch-
andise or materials.
13.36.055. Parking within designated areas. vehicles shall be
parked within the lines which designate parking stalls
and no vehicle shall be parked so as to prevent access
to an adjoining stall or on an aisle or driveway or on
areas marked to designate access or open areas.
13.36.056. Advertising prohibited. It shall be unlawful to park
vehicles on public municipal parking lots for the pur-
pose of displaying temporary signs calling attention to
merchandise or things or promoting political campaigns
for persons or causes with the exception of permanently
lettered identification markings on vehicles or tempor-
ary removable bumper strips or stickers. Upon written
application, the City Council may permit the parking of
vehicles displaying signs advertising charitable or
patriotic causes.
13.36.057. Sales from vehicles prohibited. No person shall stand
or park any vehicle, wagon or pushcart from which goods
wares, merchandise, fruits, vegetables or food stuffs
are sold, displayed, solicited or offered for sale, or
bartered or exchanged, on any public municipal parking
lot.
13.36.058. Parking for demonstration. No operator of any vehicle
shall park said vehicle upon any public municipal park-
ing lot for the principal purpose of advertising it or
displaying it for sale."
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of
s ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Any person who
11 be convicted of a violation of this ordinance shall be deemed

guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not excee
$500.00, or by imprisonment not exceeding six months, or by both
such fine or imprisonment.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as required
by law.

thereafter at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
