HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 08711 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ORDINANCE NO. 871 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION D OF § 6.36.120 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AND INCREASING THE RATES OF FARE FOR TRANSPORTATION IN TAXICABS. The City Council of The City of Burlingame does ordain as follows: Section 1: Sub -section D of 9 6.36.120 of the Municipal Code of The City of Burlingame is amended to read and provide as follows: "D. RATES. It shall be unlawful for the owner or driver of any taxicab in the City to fix, charge or collect for a service a rate more or less than the following: (1) For the first one-fourth mile or fraction thereof, sixty cents. (2) For each additional one-sixth of a mile, ten cents. (3) When carrying passengers whose point of destination is different, the meter shall be turned back to the "for hire" position each time a passenger is discharged and a fare collected. (4) For each piece of luggage in excess of two average -size traveling bags, or their equiv- alent in size, ten cents each. (5) For waiting time a charge may be made at the rate of eight dollars ($8.00) per hour, as is indicated on the taxicab meter to the nearest ten cents (100) and is to be included in the total registered fare provided the waiting time charge shall not apply to traffic delays or crossing delays for train passage. Section 2: This ordinance shall be published as required by law. CHARLOTTE JOHNSON, VICE -MAYOR I, HERBERT K.
