RESOLUTION ESTABLTSHTNG 1985-T986 APPROPRIATION
LIMIT FOR CITY OF BURLINGAME PURSUANT TO
ARTICLE XIII B OF TTTE CALIFORNIA CONSTTTUTION
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME
that;
WHEREAS, in November 1979, the voters of the State
of California approved proposition 4, the Gann Appropriation r,imit
rnitiative, which states that beginning July l, 1980, ar1 state
and Iocal government budgets are limited to a formul-a based upon
the L978'79 budget, plus adjustments for cost of living and
population changes, and specific exceptions for service charges,
federal and state grants, reserve funds, etc.; and
WHEREAS, the state Legisrature adopted chapter 1205,
Statutes of 1980, implementing Article XIII B of the California
Constitution; and
WHEREAS, in accordance rvith the above the City of
Burl-ingame has prepared documentation establishing our 1985-19g6
approprj-ation 1imit, and has made this documentatj-on available to
the public for more than 15 days in the proposed budget;
NOW,THEREFORE, rr rs HEREBY RESoLVED as folrows:
r- For 1985-1986 the city's appropriation rimit is$2t ,606 .302 .
2. The Adopted Budget for 1985-1996 incrudes$2L,605.078 in appropriations which are subjectto limit, and estimates taxes of $13, 7 52 ,50-0.
3. For 1985-1996 the city of Burlingame is withinthe limits of Article xrrr B of trre CaliforniaConstituti_on.
