Gentlemen
I am writing about a second time I have been involved in a car accident in the
same spot. Both accidents occurred at the intersection of Summit and
Belevedere - Hillsborough on one side and Burlingame on the other.
Both times the drivers of the cars came out of Belevedere without either
stopping or looking to see whether another car was coming on Summit which is
a through street.
On August 11, 1995 (past Friday) the driver drove out of Belevedere to make a
left turn. He hit my left front bumper and fender, pushing in the hood. The
estimated damages is $3000.00.
I certainly do not feel ! was at fault since, as I said, Summit is literally a
thoroughfare going up and down the hill and anyone turning into it should, of
course, be aware of whether or not another car was coming on Summit. !t would
be comparable to turning into El Camino without deterring if it was safe.
I am enclosing a letter from the Mother of the driver that hit me. She was not
there, but says that her son was on my right and therefore had a right of way. I
know this is true when small streets are involved. But turning into a main street?
Obviously this intersection desperately needs a "STOP SIGN' before someone
is killed. Now I ask that a person from'Burlingame City who would be in charge
of this, goes to the intersection. I'm sure he will determine that I am right on this
issue. I will gladly meet anyone at any designated time. My telephone number
is 347-8987.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Sincerelv.

Re: Accident August 11, 1995
Dear Ms. Baker
My car was damaged as a result of a collision involving you and your
car on the above date. As you will recall, my son Adam was driving
my 1968 Chevrolet and was on your right as the accident happened at
the intersection of Belevedere Court and Summit Drive. He had entered
Summit Drive when you hit him from the rear.
As I feel the accident was your responsibility I expect to be reimbursed
for the damage to my car as represented by the enclosed estimate.
Please forward this letter and enclosures to your insurance company for
attention and request them to contact or advise me in connection to this
cl aim.
Sincerely
\-,
